     WHY SHOP HERE?

Here at The Book Exchange, we realize today’s students have more options than ever when purchasing textbooks and course materials. However, The Book Exchange remains the best choice for WVU students. Our store beats all competitors because of our dedication to keeping prices low, providing excellent customer service, and making your textbook purchase as convenient as possible.

       We Keep Prices Low

          Used Books

Making used books available is the most important way The Book Exchange reduces the cost of textbooks for WVU students. According to NACS (National Association of College Stores), The Book Exchange has saved students more than one million dollars over the past ten years by making used books available. Buying used books can save more money than buying textbooks from any other source.

Textbook Buy Backs

By buying back books at the end of the semester, The Book Exchange allows students to recover some of their original investment in textbooks. In many cases, you can recover from 10% to 50% of your original book expenditure.

Competitive Prices

By creating a competitive atmosphere, The Book Exchange prevents the University Bookstore from cornering the textbook market, which reduces the price inflation associated with a monopoly. This competition helps keep both new and used prices down.

Your Books, Now

By making WVU texts available to students, The Book Exchange allows you to avoid the shipping charges from internet purchases. Remember, even if the price on an internet site is within five to ten dollars of our price, you will end up paying more after shipping than if you buy the book straight from our shelves. Since we only stock the editions of texts as requisitioned by WVU staff, you won't run the risk of purchasing the wrong book.

    Our Outstanding Customer Service

          A Local History

Our organization has been providing textbooks for the WVU community for many years. As a result, we have the ability to work closely with all academic departments and their faculty to acquire the correct materials that are required and recommended for your courses. The Book Exchange also contributes to the quality of campus life by sponsoring special events like author readings, book signings, and other cultural programs. We are avid supporters of WVU Athletics, and stock over 1,000 pieces of WVU fan gear, souvenirs and novelties in our Gift Shop.

            Student-Friendly Return Policy

If your professor changes course requirements, or if you decide to drop a class or make a schedule change, simply bring your receipt with the books (in the same condition they were in when purchased) to one of our stores during the first week of class to receive a full refund. The full refund period may also be extended for those who bring proof that they’ve dropped a class.

Considerate Staff

Our personnel will go beyond normal customer service duties to assist students and parents in adjusting to college life and dealing with stressful situations. We routinely offer advice on University policies and procedures. In the past, we have assisted students who have suffered personal loss because of fire, theft, or serious accident.

Year-Round Textbook Support

Staff members are always available in our textbook department to locate the books you need, buy back your books, check the availability of textbooks at both store locations, and to special order those hard to find books. These services are also just a phone call away.

    We’re Always Convenient

          Multiple Locations

Whether on the Downtown or Evansdale campus, you are always within walking distance of our Willey Street or Evansdale stores. You can have your books in hand rather than waiting for delivery from a website or other source.

Buy Online or Via Phone

If you are not local, can’t find transportation, or just don’t want to fight Morgantown traffic, you can order your books on our website or over the phone, and we’ll ship them to you. If your books are in stock, you’ll receive them within three to four business days after we receive your order, or even the next day for an additional shipping fee.

Pack and Hold Service

Rather than fight the back-to-school crowd in search of rapidly dwindling supplies of books you need, you can use our prepaid Pack and Hold textbook reservation program. Simply give us your schedule, and your books will be collected and held at your choice of our two locations so you can get them all at once without wasted time picking them from shelves.

Flexible Payment Options

If you rely on grants, loans and scholarships, you can take advantage of our campus-specific payment methods which allow you to apply funds from financial aid programs to your purchases. Our in-store account program also allows you to place a credit card or bank account in our system to further assist you. We also accept credit cards, debit cards, and personal checks.
